ABOUT

Northern Timber Cruisers formed in 1982 to promote conservation in and adherence to the principles and laws of safe outdoor activities in and around the Katahdin area: riding snowmobiles, ATVs and cross country skiing. We are 100% affiliated with the Maine Snowmobile Association and ATV Maine.

Our club meets on the first Wednesday of the month.

Club officers and board members are nominated annually in March. Voting takes place in April, and those elected are installed in May.

 

You can rent our club house for your next event.

Volunteers maintain the trail-grooming equipment we own to provide safe and enjoyable snowmobiling, ATV riding and cross-country skiing.

Club House Rental

Our club house is available to rent for $350 for the day. It can accommodate 150 people and there's plenty of parking in the upper and lower parking areas. You get the use of the stove, refrigerator and coffee maker. Bring your own serving and eating utensils. There are eighteen rectangular tables (a mix of six and eight feet) and chairs. Northern Timber Cruisers has a license to serve alcohol on the premises, but it's BYOB. Wi-fi is available, and there's plenty of space for live music, indoors or out.

In the summertime, you are welcome to put up a tent for outdoor events and can use our firepit. Bring your own barbeque grill. We ask that you clean up afterwards. There is a dumpster onsite.

To groom and maintain our trails, volunteers from the club operate the following: 

  • 2 Skidoo Alpine Widetracks for XC Skiing trails 

  • 1 Polaris Norstar with tracks for grooming

  • 1 New Kubota 6060 Tractor with tracks and brush hog

  • 1 XC Skiing tracksetter drag  

  • 2 Snowmobile Mogul Master drags

  • 1 5ft Rock rake and 1 8ft Rock rake
